Read 1 Kings 19:1-19 and discuss. 

• Why did Elijah run away from Jezebel? 
• Why did Elijah go into the desert? What did he need the most? 
• What moved Elijah to ask God to take his life? Was he depressed, fearful, or just in a post-adrenaline slump? 
• What was God saying through the wind, earthquake, fire, and gentle whisper?

What is the most difficult thing for you to handle after having a spiritual, mountain top experience? What do you need most in those times?

Share a time when you have experienced paralysis from fear or a post-adrenaline slump. What was your perception of God's involvement in your struggle?

What could tempt you to give up your occupation? What could tempt you to give up in serving God?

In those times when you have been tempted to hide and isolate yourself, in what way have you heard God ask, "What are you doing here?" What was your answer?

What is God trying to communicate to you right now? What do you hear in the gentle whisper?

What could you do to help others when they are experiencing spiritual paralysis or fear?
