The Open Door
Isaiah 54:2 |
 |
Have you ever left the door of your home standing open? What came in? What
went out?
Meditate on Isaiah 54:2. As we enlarge our capacity for God, think about how we
can openly and freely bring and include others. Reflect on your ability to
release God's resources in order to do so. Record insights God gives you during
this time in a journal.
Read Mark 2:1-11.
- If you were one of the four friends bringing this man to Jesus, what would
your unique role have been?
- What quality of these four men do you admire most?
- How would you have felt about the mess they created? (v. 4)
- Who cared enough about you to bring you to Jesus?
- Coming to Jesus can be a messy, costly, and inconvenient process. What are
you willing to risk and invest in order for people to come to Jesus?
Luke 9:1-6 and 10-17.
- How does Jesus manage his resources? What part do his followers play in
his management system? (v. 1 & 2)
- Where do you see yourself in the use and care of God's resources?
- In what ways could you make your life doorway bigger and allow God's
resources to flow freely?
What steps will you and your group take this week to stretch wide your
life doorway and invite others to come to Jesus? How will you release God's
resources for God's use?
