Can't Hardly Wait
Luke 1:21-23

What is the longest you have had to wait for something? What was it? What did you do as you waited?

Review the Zechariah story in Luke 1:5-24. Now focus on verses 23-25.

How long do you think Zechariah remained speechless?
What feelings do you think Zechariah experienced as he went home and waited for God's promise to be fulfilled?
You may grapple with depression as you wait for the results of God's promise to be realized. What do you do during those times?
In which area is it easiest for you to go by feelings?

"Waiting" is a huge principle in scripture. Look at Acts 1:4, John 15:1-8, James 5:7, and Galatians 4:19.

How are you participating with God to have Christ more fully formed in you?
Share a significant lesson have you learned during a waiting time in your life.

Patience is living every day in the expectation that God is doing his job.

In what areas are you currently waiting for God to move?
In what ways have you tended to move faster than God?

Active (vs. passive) waiting helps clarify the driving forces of our life. What have you identified as those things you really care about and are passionately convicted about?

During frustrating times of waiting we are called upon, like Elizabeth (verse 25), to support each other and speak faith. Who does that for you? How could your group be more fully there for each other?
