Asking for God's direction for our lives is sometimes easier said than done. We need to move from a life of good intentions to faithfully living out the path God desires for us.

Life is an incredible gift...and incredibly brief. Jesus calls us with urgency to commit ourselves - heart, soul, mind and strength - to The One Thing.

“Stinking thinking” can create believers who are both saved …and miserable! God transforms us and our minds when we work our own recovery program, finding the serenity that only God’s Spirit provides. 

Too often Jesus' followers play "Candyland Christianity" -- sweet, artificial and safe -- reading God's printed word without demonstrating the action-packed directive of the Living Word. 

Love your neighbor as yourself... the greatest command yet the hardest to accomplish. We cannot truly love ourselves as God loves us, until we evaluate our lives and take a deep look at what is holding us back from loving others.

Action without faith lacks purpose; faith without action is dead. Real faith compels us forward, providing help, hope and healing in a hurting world.

Judgmentalism is a cancer that can invade any one of us and create division through politics, race and even emotions, but James reminds us mercy triumphs over judgment as we practice The Law of Love - A FAITH THAT WORKS.

This Father's Day, the God of the universe simply asks for our faith, calling God's children to seek the source, develop the substance and demonstrate the evidence.

In a tough economy, our fear drives us to focus on making a living through what we can get, instead of God's priority on making a life through what we can give.

Yet, James calls us to lead unpolluted lives--healthy food for the mind, sobriety for the soul, and the focus on sacrificial service that fulfills God’s purpose.

God is impressed by performance—not empty promises. The truest expression of worship we can offer to God is sacrificial service to the most vulnerable.

Our culture takes promises too lightly; to God, promises are a serious business. The book of James reminds us that promises made are promises to be kept.

Are you a fan - or a player? A bystander - or an activist? Only a dreamer - or also a doer? It's time to close the gap between what we know...and what we do.

Too many in the church today have confused American ideals and our own "pursuit of happiness" with biblical truth! The book of James calls us to stop the excuses, clean up the filth, and set healthy, moral boundaries that honor God.

Uncontrolled anger destroys both us - and those we love. God's righteous anger, however, propels us to serve the poor, oppressed and defenseless, placing us at the heart of God's purpose.

Even when we are unaware, God’s Spirit leads us at all times to fulfill God’s purpose in our lives.

In a post-911 environment of anxiety, fear drives us to avoid risk. Easter faith empowers us to seize the gift of today and truly experience life.
